Hi! I’m Meri, a costume designer based in capital region of Finland.

As a costume designer, my practice values the symbiosis of costume and the performing body, and how this collaboration can enrich and shape a work more than the individual parts alone. I hold special interest in costuming dance, studying historical garment making and hand sewing techniques. My costume work has been presented nationally and internationally.

I studied costume design in Aalto University, and I have both Masters and Bachelors degrees on costume design as the major. Finnish is my native tounge, and I am fluent in English.

Artistic accessibility, sustainable work environment and the joy of cocreation are core elements I do my best to nurture.
